Today I started listening to a book about fascism (the anatomy of fascism by Robert Paxton). I am interested in his views because it is easy to accuse the populist leaders walking the earth nowadays as being at least partially fascistic, maybe that’s not fair. My views for now on this is that most of these charismatic and popular leaders are precisely popular because they are charismatic and know how to sell themselves. This is what they share with the two welkown fascist leaders from a hundred years ago. These two leaders sold a feeling that resonated like a tone in an empty bowl, and not a real program or idea of how a society should work best for everyone.
